So today everything became official for me. Let me go back a couple steps.
Casey and I both grew up in farming communities on the opposite sides of the Yakima Valley. We met on our summer break home from College (thank you Sarah). He was going to be transferring to the University of Washington, and I soon would be graduating from Washington State University (Go Cougs)! Ha! Anyhoo~ I moved to Seattle to be with the love of my life and to support him in following his passion to become a Mechanical Engineer. After he graduated, we stayed in the Seattle area with my brother-in-law Tyler and (shooting forward in time a little) soon to be sister-in-law Coraleigh. I LOOOOooooooOOOved my job working at Seattle Children's. And he was finding his passion within his career. In my life at that time, it felt that I either needed to invest most of my time in my career by working my way up the ladder, or starting a family and giving them most of my attention. After being in love together for five years, on New Year's Eve, Casey and I decided it was time to start our family. A little over 7 months ago, we were blessed with our beautiful baby girl, Kolbi Ella. It's so crazy... (and people do think I'm crazy) But I feel as though life just started! Which leads me back to present day...
Casey and I knew that one day we would want to move back to the Valley. We go back all the time for outdoor activities (boating, fishing, the cabin, wine tasting, etc) and to be with our family. However, we were thinking it would be when we were ready to retire... Not so much. Casey just accepted a job offer through General Electric designing landing gear for planes. He is very excited about the work. And I'm so excited he's following his passion. I'm also excited that we will be back closer to our family.
So, getting back to the Circus Music... I told my manager today about our little family plan. And so it's official! In the next couple weeks, we will be packing, putting our house on the market and moving into a rental. Please help me pray I find a job. I understand it's hard for nursing over there (as in the only hospital with a pediatric ward just laid off 100 employees). And our plan is is that until I find a job over there, I will commute to Seattle, work three days a week and then go back to Yakima.
I have faith that God has a plan, and it'll all work out. Maybe I can even lose a few pounds over it instead of biting my pointer fingernails off....oops...too late. Well, thank God for wine! Cheers!~
