Things are settling nicely. I only work when I'm asked and if I want too (looOove working per diem), and I get to enjoy family! Seriously, it's incredible. Yesterday, on a Thursday, I got a first hand lesson with my cousin from my Grandma on how to make cinnamon rolls Great-Grandma Miller style, that was priceless. Another example is, when I do work, I pay my daycare lady (my Aunt, who is also one of my idols) in wine to watch Kolbi (and sometimes we even get the time to drink it together, which is really fun because I know she has the good stuff hahaha). This is how to live life! Taking in the time to take in the moments I will never be able to get back.
Isn't it funny how our perspectives change? Most of the time I think how fast time has flown by, and other times when your looking it right in the nose or from a distance, it seems to go by so incredibly slow. It's like when you are 12 and can't wait until your 16 so you can drive and taste freedom. Or when you have your baby and are so looking forward to the times ahead (like the first time she holds you back and you can tell she's in a way telling you she loves you too). Then when it happens, you look back and think "wow, that went by so fast!" Everyone always has told me to enjoy where I am at in life, and I most certainly am trying not to disappoint myself. When I look back now, there are things I wish I would have done (like gone to my Grandma Miller's last birthday party so I could have had a more recent good-bye, or dated that one guy in college even though I know it wouldn't have worked out because I know I could have learned something from it as I have with any past relationship) but for the most part, I have to say I'm proud of myself for not letting too many opportunities slip on by. I do have to say going into work is a nice break from life (it helps me feel like I've helped others, which in a way helps satisfy something in myself, and brings a lot of balance to my home life). However, I've realized life isn't measured by how many hours I work, but by how many memories I can say I made. And that is exactly what I've been doing.
I may not be Martha Stewart (clearly not, as when I made invitations to Miss.K's first birthday party I sent them out and had forgotten to write in the actual date of the party...durdurdurrrr!), but I sure as the sun will shine am going to do the best I can (like sharing some laughs with everyone when I tell them of my silly error on the invitation) to let those closest to me know that I love them, because that is how I want my life to be measured. <3

And the Circus Music is a blarin'....
Soooo sorry for the delay. We finally have internet (Casey decided to try to get the internet for free and it worked :) hahaha)! So now I can update all of you guys as to the happenings of the Jones family.
After a week of..... let's call it moving Inferno, we got everything in, organized for what will work for now, and able to start work. Work?!?! I know right. One week off to basically get all the sh*t we have (including all of the other sh*t we didn't know we have) organized and off to orientation at Yakima Valley Farm Workers I go.
No matter where you go, the first week always stinks. The first day was shadowing which wasn't too bad at all. One day in HR-which basically comes down to "insert-first-finger-into-right-nostril-and-pick" and sign here to say you were here to do so. And then the next three days to learn how to chart in 3 different computer systems of which only 2 are linked. Two of which you can only chart in CAPS ONLY, the other of which it looks weird if you do so nobody does. It's true, no health care facility has a great computer program. The second week (last week) was soooo much better. The staff there are amazing! Super great to work with. It is a non-profit organization, so it's really cool to work with all people, all ages, with a huge variety of things that we can offer to help them. Every day gets even better. And my current manager is amazing. She put me in to interview for a charge nurse position, and is always on the look out for something more permanent for me other than my current per diem position.
Casey pretty much got thrown to the wolves in his job. They are realllllllly behind on some parts. So he's making people get organized so when he has to sign off on things, they are ready. Not fun, but somebodys got to be the leader. He'll be great at it.
Other than alllll of the not-so-fun stuff mentioned above, ~don't worry friends: I've drank a bit of wine, loved on the baby, started hot yoga, a little jogging here and there and have been so happy to have such a loving, amazing family to help us through such a crazy transition.
Miss K has started to crawl....fortunately just short distances for now....but she is very interested in pulling herself up to a stand. And she is so proud of herself when she does :). I have a feeling she is going to be a future trouble maker. Last weekend she was beating up on her cousin Landon scratching at his face (which only made him laugh at her~such a sweet hearted boy) and stealing his binky. She also got in trouble for the first time the other day. She was grabbing for the cord that my electric toothbrush is plugged in with in the bathroom, and after telling her no a couple times, she still felt that she still needed to grab and pull it. The third time telling her no got a few crocodile tears and a pouty lip out of her. Ahhh, the wonders of disciplining a child are upon us. Wonderful (I say that sarcastically).
Until next time. Don't wreck your car (if your blessed to be in the white stuff), and bundle up, and may you find yourselves with the ones you love.
